Deep Tissue Treatment + Wellness

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is a traditional Chinese medical treatment that involves placing cups on the skin and creating suction, either through heating the cups or using a pump to draw out the air. The suction causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be drawn into the cup. This therapy is believed to improve blood circulation, relieve muscle tension and pain, and help detoxify the body.

There are different methods of cupping, including fire cupping (where glass or crystal cups are heated before being placed on the skin), dry cupping (where suction is created using a pump), and wet cupping (where a small incision is made on the skin before applying the cups). Cupping is commonly used to treat conditions such as back pain, shoulder stiffness, muscle fatigue, and colds.

After cupping, circular red or purple marks often remain on the skin, caused by blood being drawn to the surface. These marks usually fade within a few days to a week.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - “shi” (finger) and “atsu” (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.
